Well, the last exam is over, the last report has been read and the machines are buzzing and scraping in the various parts of the School where construction or renovation are going on. An eerie stillness will now descend upon the campus, at least until the first of the summer groups arrives and then we get to see the Shawnigan world through the eyes of countless visitors. That’s an interesting and valuable perspective for any place and it does ensure that we continually appreciate what we have.
The Rugby Canada Senior Mens’ squad has spent the last three days here, putting the finishing touches to their preparation for their all-important World Cup qualifying game on July 4th – great to have them around and pleasing to see young Matt Evans (06) and staff member Doug Wooldridge in that group.
Any day now, I’ll have to start the dreaded summer clean-up of the office! There’s definitely enough paper in here to keep a re-cycling plant busy for a while! How can I have that many documents when I have so many electronic files too these days? These, of course, would be the larger questions of life that I’m now confronting – it’s a sure sign that a break is close!
