The Ask
Winter falls fast in Shawnigan Lake, and with winter comes Snowfest, the annual school ball. Ripley's House is entrenched in a craze of 40 young men trying to find a date for this prestigious event. It seems as though the more the outlandish and creative "the ask" the better here at Shawinigan. It’s amazing to see the motivation and effort that is shown by boys all across campus in order to get a date. Several have interrupted entire school meals to get down on one knee and ask. Others have spent hours making signs, while others have written songs. It seems there is an unofficial contest for "the best ask", and the more creative the better. The flurry that takes place this time of year is a great display of how much fun we have here at Shawnigan. Shawnigan Lake students won't settle for just asking a girl to the dance. We want to ask them better than anyone else, and go above and beyond the call of romantic duty. I think It's understood here that the maximum will always be better than the just the average.
