Senior Tennis Qualifies for Provincials
Congratulations go to the senior tennis team who qualified for the Provincial Championships on Saturday! Despite suffering an early morning upset from GNS, losing 5-6,SLS bounced back to rout Esquimalt 10-1 by noon before travelling to Brentwood. In the mid-afternoon, in a stellar performance, SLS trounced SMUS 9-2 to advance to the Island final against BCS. Unfortunately, we could not “close the deal”, as the saying goes, as we lost four tiebreakers in a row to be edged out 5-6, wrapping up play just before 7:30pm! Special mention goes to the boys’ captain, John W., who did not lose a single game in all of his four singles’ matches! We’re off to Burnaby at the the end of the month to represent the School. We appreciated the support of many parents and of Mrs. and Mr. Grass.
