Topic: A Busy Term!

After a relaxing break, we are back and ready for a busy run to Ski Week. Grade 12s have the option not to go to Ski Week and, instead, may look at universities for next year. I’m going to miss going to Ski Week this year, but at the same time, I’m excited to look at my future possibilities. But, before we can all pack up for our Olympic break, I have basketball games and a drama production to put on for the School! The Senior Girls’ Basketball Team has been extremely busy with games and tournaments.

Topic: Goldstream Provincial Park

Our trip to Goldstream Provincial Park was very rewarding. We travelled in groups and once we arrived, we headed to the field house where we saw eagles and ducks flying around everywhere outside. It was quite beautiful. Jesse, the tour guide, told us a nice story about the First Nations and what they used for fishing. The trip was very worthwhile and gave us a real appreciation for the life of the First Nations people and their connection to the salmon in the Goldstream River.

Topic: International Week

Let me first start out by saying that International Week was awesome. From eating Japanese BBQ, homemade French bread and bubble tea to the exquisite desserts that the Korean group gave us for our House Treat, International Week was a complete success. But I have to say that my favorite part of International Week was, by far, the Stage Show. Be it the plainly awe-striking performance by the Chinese group, the wonderful cultural dance of the Japanese group, J.

Topic: Duxbury Chapel Presentation

This past Saturday, the boys of Duxbury performed during the Chapel Service as the House celebrates its tenth anniversary this October. The theme of this presentation was “Unity”. The service consisted of hymns, speeches, musical offerings and even a reading from “Lord of the Rings”. The boys had loads of fun with the performance, and were able to truly show the importance and advantages of being a team. As the year goes on, Duxbury continues to bond tighter as a House.
