Andrew Doyle
Originally from Wales, Andrew has been at Shawnigan since 2001. After graduating from the University of Wales in Cardiff with a B.Sc. in Sport and Exercise Science, Andrew took some time for travel. A friend told him to be sure and get in touch with fellow Welshman, Rhodri Samuel, while he was in Canada and that is how Andrew first learned about Shawnigan.
Later that year, Andrew met up with the Shawnigan Rugby Team while they were on tour in Wales and he was lured to Shawnigan to teach Physical Education, Sport Science, and Human Performance. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Andrew is Assistant House Director in Ripley’s House and coaches rugby and soccer.
A lover of all sports, Andrew played both rugby and soccer during high school and went on to play rugby at university in an extremely competitive Division One Welsh League. While he misses Wales, he loves the beautiful setting of Shawnigan’s campus and the wonderful community. And, with our long summer vacations, he has ample time to travel and visit friends and family in Wales.
